Regular Public Classes
Group classes incorporate asana (postures), pranayama (breath exercise) and relaxation/meditation.
Class descriptions and details are below.
This 60 minute class is for those brand new to yoga, those who’ve recently completed Jo’s Beginner Course, as well as anyone who enjoys a slower paced, gentler class. Use of props is encouraged and variations are demonstrated so you can practice in a way that suits your body .
Generally taught ‘slow flow’ style (and occasionally incorporating Restorative or Yin poses), with an emphasis on the basic philosophy of yoga and developing good physical foundations, there is plenty of time to find your way into and out of poses. You certainly don’t need to be able to touch your toes, and with years of experience, Jo will assist you in finding ease in or alternatives for any pose.
Classes vary each week and incorporate pranayama (breath exercise/control), asana (poses) and relaxation/meditation.
As has been the tradition with this class, all attendees are welcome (but never obliged) to gather after class for a cuppa and a chat on the deck at Kakowan Koffee (where proceeds support the wonderful work of Golden Valley Keperra Lions Club).
Venue
Kakowan Community Facilty - 2 Pine Hills Drive, Bunya QLD 4055: a modern, accessible, airconditioned, light-filled space with internal toilet/change facilities.
Set amongst beautiful native trees and gardens, Kakowan (Turrbal for Laughing Kookaburra) is a mere stone’s throw from suburbia yet feels worlds away.
Free parking adjacent to the community centre, with overflow parking in a larger carpark directly across the road.
Bookings are not normally necessary, however, if attending your first class with Jo, please get in touch prior to confirm class is on as normal, and then arrive 10 minutes before class start time to complete a Pre-Yoga Health Form.
(Class cancellations are rare and are posted on the Jo Moloney Yoga Facebook page.)

Restorative Yoga
Not currently scheduled
Restorative Yoga has become increasingly well-known and sought after. It is a way to relax and restore body and mind as you adopt different yoga postures fully supported with blocks, blankets, straps and bolsters (not necessarily all at once!). Generally, poses are sustained for 5 to 15 minutes and the effect is that you are able to let go of stored emotions and mental and physical tension – as your body relaxes, so does your mind.
Having practised yoga before is not a prerequisite.
Variations are offered to accommodate different bodies and/or health considerations.
Classes incorporate asana (postures), pranayama (breath exercises) and, of course, relaxation.
