Regular Public Classes

Group classes incorporate asana (postures), pranayama (breath exercise) and relaxation/meditation.

Class descriptions and details are below.

This 60 minute class is for those brand new to yoga as well as anyone who enjoys a slower paced, gentler class. Use of props is encouraged and variations are demonstrated so you can practice in a way that suits your body.

Generally taught ‘slow flow’ style (and occasionally incorporating Restorative or Yin poses), with an emphasis on the basic philosophy of yoga and developing good physical foundations, there is plenty of time to find your way into and out of poses. You certainly don’t need to be able to touch your toes, and with years of experience, Jo will assist you in finding ease in, or alternatives for, any pose.

Classes vary each week and incorporate pranayama (breath exercise/control), asana (poses) and relaxation/meditation.

As has been the tradition with this class, all attendees are welcome (but never obliged) to gather after class for a cuppa and a chat on the deck at Kakowan Koffee (where proceeds support the wonderful work of Golden Valley Keperra Lions Club).

Venue

Kakowan Community Facilty - 2 Pine Hills Drive, Bunya QLD 4055: a modern, accessible, airconditioned, light-filled space with internal toilet/change facilities.
Set amongst beautiful native trees and gardens, Kakowan (Turrbal for Laughing Kookaburra) is a mere stone’s throw from suburbia yet feels worlds away.

Free parking adjacent to the community centre, with overflow parking in a larger carpark directly across the road.

Bookings are not normally necessary, however, if attending your first class with Jo, please get in touch prior to confirm class is on as normal, and then arrive 10 minutes before class start time to complete a Pre-Yoga Health Form.

(Class cancellations are rare and are posted on the Jo Moloney Yoga Facebook page.)

I always really enjoy Jo’s classes. It’s easy to work at my level and Jo gives different options for every stance or pose. It’s reassuring doing a class where you know there’s no competition or stress in worrying whether you’ll be able to do a pose or whether it’s too hard for you. I used to get stressed about this with other yoga teachers and would not want to go to class. I don’t have that worry any more. The guidance in what we are doing is great, I am never left behind. I really appreciate Jo’s way of teaching yoga.

At times, she’ll also offer the opportunity to do a little more if you choose, hence the addition of the word “Plus” to this class title.

A group of yoga students sit in a meditative pose

Now in its 10th year, this 60 minute class is for those seeking a dynamic class where asana (postures) are practised, synced with the breath, in flowing sequences. Variations are offered so you can practise at the intensity that’s right for you, in the moment, and use of props is encouraged.

This class involves up-and-down flow, so participants need to be mobile (able to get up and down from the floor) and comfortable moving through an active class.

There is no prerequisite for attending this class - whether you’ve been practising yoga for years or are a curious beginner, Jo will guide you with care and kindness, drawing on her years of teaching experience.

Classes vary each week and incorporate pranayama (breath exercise/control), asana (poses) and relaxation/meditation, and occasionally some Yin or Restorative poses.

Jo is warm, welcoming, kind and professional. Each class is designed with thoughtful and considered intention, to help improve balance, strength, flexibilty and focus - both physically and within. Throughout class, Jo offers alternative options and encourages individual choice so that each student can adapt and develop their own personalised practice as needed. After “time on my mat for self-care” class with Jo, I always feel the perfect combination of calm, relaxed and energised. Thank you Jo for providing gentle guidance to help nourish and restore my mind, body & soul.

Flow

Wednesdays 7pm–8pm
Our Lady of Dolours Church – Community Centre

Great class last night. The moving meditation style helped to keep my mind present and focused on the pose and breathing.
I’m not always able to stop my mind from wandering back to the events of the day or to come, but it’s really nice when I can and I’ve noticed how much better I feel by the end :)
