Mini retreat

Saturday 29 October 2022
1:30pm – 4:30pm

Join Jo for an afternoon of yoga at Kakowan Community Facility, Bunya. Set amongst beautiful native trees and gardens, Kakowan (Turrbal for Kookaburra) is a mere stone’s throw from suburbia yet feels worlds away.

This mini retreat has been timed to enable you to rest and recharge ahead of the pre-Christmas season. As well as yoga asana and pranayama, learn and practise simple tools for grounding yourself during this period that can be exhausting or overwhelming for even the calmest, most organised of us.

Begin with some gentle, stretchy yoga asana and pranayama, then break for a refreshing, light afternoon tea followed by a luxurious 90 minute Restorative Yoga practice. Supported with props (bolster, blocks, blanket, strap), sink in to rest in each pose for several minutes. Practising in this way assists with shifting stored emotions, and dissolving mental and physical tension, leaving you feeling, well… restored!

Kakowan has screened doors and air conditioning, so the room temperature will be comfortable even if the weather is warm. Wear clothes that allow for easy movement and bring a light jacket or wrap, and maybe socks if you tend to feel cooler when resting in stillness.
